How to Update Your Credit Card Details

Change the card on file for your WP Travel Engine subscription so your renewals go through without a hitch.

Why this matters

Keeping your card details up to date helps your WP Travel Engine subscription renew on time. That means you keep access to the features and updates tied to your plan.

A common example is when your bank sends you a new card because the old one expired. If WP Travel Engine tries to renew your subscription with the old card, the payment will fail. Updating your card before that happens helps you avoid that problem.

If you run treks, day tours, or multi-day packages, a failed renewal can interrupt access when you need your site most. It is worth taking a few minutes to update the card now so you do not have to deal with it later.

The steps below walk you through the whole process. You will have it done in a few minutes.

Update your credit card

Before you start, make sure you have your WP Travel Engine account with an active subscription and your new credit card ready.

Go to your account page

This is where your subscription and payment details are managed.

Visit the WP Travel Engine Account Page.

You are in the right place when you see the login screen or your account dashboard. Once you are there, you can move to the next step.

Logging in with the right email makes sure you land in the correct account.

Enter the same email address and password you used when you bought the plugin.

If you forgot your password, click Lost Password on the login screen. Then follow the reset steps using the email linked to your plugin purchase.

Once you are logged in, you are ready to open your subscription details.

Open the Subscription tab

This is where you can see the plan that is currently active.

Your dashboard is the main page you see after logging in. From there, click the Subscription tab to view your active subscriptions.

You should now see your subscription listed on the page. That means you are in the right spot.

Select Update Payment

This option opens the form where you can replace the card saved for renewals.

In the Actions column next to your subscription, click Update Payment. The Actions column is on the same row as your subscription details.

If you are renewing before a busy travel season, this is the step that helps you avoid a failed payment later.

After you click it, you will be taken to the payment update screen.

Enter your new card details

This is where you add the card WP Travel Engine will use for future renewals.

Fill in the required fields. This usually includes the name on the card, the credit card number, the expiration date, and the CVV if requested.

Check the details once before you move on. A small typo here can stop the update from going through.

Say your bank sent you a replacement business card right before your trekking or day tour season starts. This is the place to enter that new card so your subscription keeps running without interruption.

Once the form is filled out, you are ready to save the change.

Submit and save

This final step saves the new card to your subscription.

Click Update Payment Method to save your new card details.

You will see a confirmation when the update is successful. Once that appears, your future renewals will use the new card.

Important notes

Keeping your card details current helps you avoid failed renewals. It also helps you keep uninterrupted access to premium features.

  • If a renewal fails because your card has expired or is no longer valid, WP Travel Engine will email you to let you know. Update your card as soon as you can to fix the issue.
  • You can update your card details at any time. You do not need to wait until your next renewal date.

Once your card is updated, you are all set for future renewals. If anything does not look right, support can help you check it.
