Webhooks and API
Connect WP Travel Engine to CRMs, accounting tools, messaging apps, and dashboards with automatic webhooks and secure, read-only API access.
Connect your booking system to the tools you already use
Webhooks and API connects your WP Travel Engine booking website to CRMs, accounting software, messaging tools, dashboards, and other services so your data moves where you need it without manual exports.
What is Webhooks & API?
Webhooks and API is a premium add-on for WP Travel Engine that helps your booking website communicate with other tools in two ways. Webhooks send data out automatically when something happens, while the REST API lets other apps request data from your website.
You need WP Travel Engine 6.7.0 or later, Cart 4.0 or later, and the Webhooks & API add-on installed. HTTPS is recommended for secure connections.
The two modules
Webhooks
Webhooks send an automatic message to another app the moment an event occurs on your booking system. You can send updates for enquiries, bookings, payments, customers, and cancellations without exporting data or entering it again.
Connect webhooks to tools such as Pabbly Connect, Zapier, Slack, or a custom application. Use them to sync bookings with a CRM, send payment notifications, or trigger WhatsApp, SMS, and email messages.
REST API
The REST API lets another app ask your website for information about trips, bookings, customers, and payments. The API is read-only, so connected apps can retrieve data but cannot change your bookings or customer records.
Use API keys to authenticate requests securely. The API also supports rate limiting and response caching for connected dashboards, mobile apps, customer portals, and partner platforms.
Benefits
- Reduce manual data entry: Send booking and payment information directly to the tools you already use.
- Receive real-time updates: Notify connected apps as soon as an enquiry, booking, payment, or customer event occurs.
- Connect common business tools: Integrate with CRMs, accounting platforms, messaging services, automation tools, and custom applications.
- Protect API access: Use API keys and secrets to control access to read-only booking data.
- Recover from temporary failures: Webhooks retry unsuccessful deliveries automatically up to five times.
- Control API traffic: Rate limiting helps prevent connected apps from sending too many requests.
- Improve repeated requests: Response caching can reduce unnecessary processing for frequently requested data.
